DATE: Mid-Century Modern, c.1950 

A striking modernist half eternity ring dating from the mid 20th century, circa 1950. It's set with a row of graduated baguette cut diamonds, slightly receded into the band. Crafted in 14 karat white gold  throughout. If the Georgi La Forge visor was made into a ring... this is it. Although admittedly it pre-dates the USS Enterprise D's fictional chief engineer by three fictional centuries (and 40 real years), which says something about the enduring "futuristic" aesthetic of 20th century modernism (and perhaps, by extension, the lack of iconic, forward-looking design ideas since).
